Each fall, the local chapter of the Society for Design Administration, in partnership AIA San Antonio, produces one of our city’s most unique events - Canstruction®. This national competition challenges teams of Architects, Engineers and Contractors to create gigantic structures made entirely out of canned food for the benefit of the local Food Banks.
The COVID-19 pandemic may have put this year’s Canstruction® competition on hold, but our commitment to heping the San Antonio Food Bank hasn’t waivered.
Thanks to our good friends at the Broadway Bank, whose support would have enabled the participation of architecture student teams from San Antonio College and UTSA, we are kicking off our fundraising challenge with $5,000. We’re asking that all the companies who normally participate in Canstruction® give the dollars that they would have invested in this year’s competition directly to the Food Bank. Participating teams will be recognized on SDA and AIA San Antonio’s social media platforms with a special thank you including your firm's Canstruction® image.
Remember, that every dollar translates into seven meals, so we could help the San Antonio Food Bank serve 70,000 meals if we achieve a full match!
Together we can.
