Summer is the hungriest time of year for many children. Without access to school lunches, many kids experience hunger during the summer school break. This represents one of four San Antonio kids in our community experiencing food insecurity.

In an effort to fight summer hunger, KENS 5 and our sponsors have a goal to fill up the Food Bank’s warehouse and feed as many children as possible. It gives us hope that we are going to meet the demand and make sure no child goes hungry, but it’s going to take the entire community.

This year, the goal is to serve 20 million meals!

Please join KENS 5 and our sponsors Methodist Healthcare, Raising Cane's, Texas Homes and Mrs. Baird's by collecting food items and monetary donations. Every $1 donated helps serve 7 meals to kids this summer.
